Hope for Ataxia announces two new appointments to board of directors. Keep on reading to get to know our new Treasurer and Secretary.
As a growing organization, we realize the importance of having discussions with people from different walks of life to stimulate growth, which allows us to reach our goals and serve the community. In line with our values of building relationships, innovation, inclusion, transparency, and collaboration we put together a working board. This board provides us with the high-level guidance and expertise needed for us to execute our strategy. Of course, we want to share our progress with you every step of the way.
We are very pleased to announce the addition of Reema Shakeel and Kara Torres-Kilgannon to our board!
Reema Shakeel is a fully designated accountant with over 10 years of financial and analytical experience. She will serve as Treasurer, overseeing and monitoring the financial performance of the organization. Her international work experiences combined with her detail-oriented skills will serve her well in this role.
Working alongside Reema is Kara Torres-Kilgannon who will serve as Secretary and is critical for the smooth operations of the board. As Secretary, she ensures that board members are given appropriate notice of meetings and proactively records these meetings. Kara’s background in law and education, together with her willingness to learn will be a great asset to the team.
Reema and Kara’s experience complements our own, and we are confident they will provide valuable perspectives as we continue this journey. We look forward to their contributions and are excited they chose Hope for Ataxia.
